How to cook or make Tender Jack Fruit Stir
Fry (Idichakka Thoran)
Ingredients:
(1) Tender jack fruit – 1
(2) Green chilly – 4
(3) Coconut – ½ cup
(4) Turmeric powder – ½ tea spoon
(5) Salt – adjust to taste
(6) Cumin seed – 1 pinch
(7) Black gram dhal – 50 grams
(8) Coconut oil – 1 table spoon
(9) Mustard seeds – 1 tea spoon
(10) Red chilly – 2
(11) Curry leaves – a few
(12) Garlic – 3 pellets
Procedure for cooking Tender Jack Fruit Stir Fry (Idichakka Thoran)
Remove the skin of tender jack fruit, wash and cut into small pieces.
Add salt, turmeric powder and water and cook the pieces. When the cooked
pieces become cold, smash them. Also smash coconut, cumin seed, green
chilly and garlic. Heat oil in a vessel and splutter mustard seeds in
that. Roast curry leaves, pieces of red chilly and black gram dhal in
that. Add the smashed jack fruit pieces, stir and add the smashed ingredients
at the center. Close the vessel with a lid and heat. After cooking well,
open the vessel and stir well.
