How to cook or make Tamarind Rice (Puli
Saadam)
Ingredients:
(1) Small size raw rice – ½ kg
(2) Gram dhal – 2 tea spoon
(3) Tamarind, Salt – As required
(4) Asafoetida powder – ¼ tea spoon
(5) Gingili oil – 1 table spoon
(6) Mustard seed – ¼ tea spoon
(7) Red chilly – 4
(8) Curry leaves – a little
(9) Jaggery – 1 small piece
Procedure Tamarind Rice (Puli Saadam)
Cook the rice. Soak the gram dhal in water. Heat oil and add mustard seeds
into that to splutter. Then add the gram dhal. When it becomes crisp,
add tamarind juice, salt, asafetida powder and jiggery. When the mixture
becomes thick, add cooked rice into that, stir well and serve.
