How to cook or make Sweet Curry (Madhura
Curry)
Ingredients:
(1) Pineapple – ½ of one fruit
(2) Chilly powder – ½ tea spoon
(3) Turmeric powder – ½ tea spoon
(4) Pepper powder – ½ tea spoon
(5) Grated jaggery – 500 grams
(6) Tamarind – 50 grams
(7) Salt – adjust to taste
(8) Black gram dhal – 250 grams
Pepper powder – 1 table spoon
(9) Coconut oil – 2 table spoon
Mustard seeds – ½ tea spoon
Red chilly – 2
Curry leaves – a few
(10) Coconut milk – ½ cup
Procedure for cooking Sweet Curry (Madhura Curry)
Remove the skin of pineapple and chop into small pieces. Squeeze tamarind
into water kept in a vessel and add the pineapple pieces into that water.
Add turmeric powder and salt and boil. When the pieces are half cooked
add chilly powder, pepper powder and jaggery and boil again to dry. Roast
black gram dhal till it become reddish and grind that together with pepper
and add that mixture to the pineapple. When the mixture is about to become
dry, pour coconut milk, stir well and when the curry becomes thick take
it out of the stove. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds to splutter.
Roast pieces of red chilly and curry leaves in that oil and pour them
into the pineapple curry.
