How to cook or make Squid Chilly Fry (Kanava
Thoran)
Ingredients:
(1) Squid fish – 1 kg
(2) Small onion – ¼ kg
(3) Green chilly – 10
(4) Garlic – 3 pellets
(5) Chilly powder – 1 table spoon
Turmeric powder – ½ tea spoon
Meat masala – 1 tea spoon
(6) Cumin seed – 1 pinch
(7) Coconut – half part
(8) Coconut oil – as required
(9) Salt, Curry leaves – as required
Procedure for cooking Squid Chilly Fry (Kanava Thoran)
Remove the liquid behind the head of the squid fish. Also remove its tongue.
Chop rest of the parts into pieces including its head. Roast garlic and
chopped pieces of green chilly and small onion in coconut oil. Add chilly
powder, turmeric powder and meat masala also. Add smashed coconut and
fennel. Then add the pieces of squid fish and curry leaves and close the
vessel with a lid. Heat it for some time. No water is to be poured. Add
salt and stir thoroughly.
