Spinach Erissery Cheera Erissery Ingredients:
(1) Spinach leaves chopped into tiny parts – 2 ½ cup
(2) Toor dhal – ½ cup
(3) Grated coconut – 1 cup
(4) Cumin seed – ½ tea spoon
(5) Turmeric powder – ½ tea spoon
(6) Chilly powder – 1 tea spoon
(7) Coconut oil – 2 table spoon
(8) Garlic – 2 pellets
(9) Curry leaves – a few
(10) Red chilly – 2
(11) Salt – adjust to taste
Procedure for cooking Spinach Erissery Cheera Erissery
Mix spinach leaves and toor dhal together and cook them. Grind coconut,
garlic, cumin seed, chilly powder and turmeric powder together. Add the
ground paste, salt and water to the cooked spinach and boil again. When
the curry starts to get thick take it from the stove. Heat oil in a pan
and add mustard seeds to splutter. Add pieces of red chilly, curry leaves
and a little coconut and roast them. Pour that into the curry and stir.
