How to cook or make Roasted Coconut Powder
(Chammandhi Podi)
Ingredients:
(1) Coconut – 1
(2) Chilly powder – 1 table spoon
(3) Red chilly – 6
(4) Tamarind – adjust to taste
(5) Salt – adjust to taste (6) Asafoetida powder – ½
tea spoon
Procedure for cooking Roasted Coconut Powder (Chammandhi Podi)
Roast the grated coconut till it becomes reddish. Roast asafoetida also.
Grind the heated red chilly and asafoetida together. If you wish, a little
black gram dhal also can be added. Mix coconut with hard pressed tamarind
and collect all ingredients in a vessel. Then mix thoroughly and keep
in a closed vessel.
