Kerala Tamil Prawns Curry (Chemmeen Varutharacha Curry) recipe

How to cook or make Prawns Curry (Chemmeen Varutharacha Curry)

(1) Prawns – 250 grams
(2) Small onion – 20
(3) Grated coconut – 2 cup
Chilly powder – 2 table spoon
Coriander seed powder – 1 table spoon
Turmeric powder – 1 pinch
(4) Tamarind – as required
(5) Salt – adjust to taste
(6) Curry leaves – a few

Procedure for cooking Prawns Curry (Chemmeen Varutharacha Curry)

Clean the prawns. Chop small onion into long pieces. Fry the coconut in oil. When coconut turns brown add chilly powder, turmeric powder and coriander seed powder, stir well and take out of the stove. Grind the roasted mixture and mix them with water and tamarind extract. Add the prawns, pieces of small onion, salt and curry leaves and stir well and then boil. After boiling vigorously, when the soup gets thick stop heating and take the curry out of the stove.
