Plantain Stem Aviyal Vazhapindi Aviyal Ingredients:
(1) Plantain stem – 1 (medium size)
(2) Coconut – 1 ½ cup
Chilly powder – 1 tea spoon
Cumin seed – 1 pinch
Turmeric powder – ¼ tea spoon
Small onion – 2
(3) Tamarind – a little
(4) Salt – adjust to taste
Coconut oil – 1 table spoon
Curry leaves – a few
Procedure for cooking Plantain Stem Aviyal Vazhapindi Aviyal
Remove the thread of plantain stem and cut into long pieces. Add salt
and water and boil. Grind ingredients under (2) together. Add the ground
paste and tamarind extract to the cooked pieces and boil. After they are
cooked, pour a little coconut oil, add a few curry leaves and take the
curry from the stove.
