How to cook or make Plantain Flower Fry
(Vazha Koombu Thoran)
Ingredients:
(1) Plantain flower – 1
(2) Coconut – half
(3) Green chilly – 4
(4) Turmeric powder – ¼ tea spoon
(5) Salt – adjust to taste
(6) Garam masala – 1 pinch
(7) Oil – as required
(8) Mustard seeds – ½ tea spoon
(9) Chilly powder – 1 tea spoon
(10) Coriander seeds powder – 1 tea spoon
(11) Garlic – 5 pellets
Procedure Plantain Flower Fry (Vazha Koombu Thoran)
Chop the plantain flower into tiny bits. Apply a little coconut oil on
the flower. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds to splutter. Roast
chopped pieces of garlic and green chilly in the oil. Add turmeric powder,
garam masala powder, Chilly powder and coriander seeds powder and heat.
Add salt and plantain flower pieces, stir well and close the vessel with
a lid for some time. After it is cooked, open the vessel, stir well and
serve.
