How to cook or make Onion Sambar Ulli Sambar
Onion Sambar Ulli Sambar Ingredients:
(1) Toor dhal – 12 cup
(2) Jaggery – 1 tea spoon
(3) Small onion – 400 grams
(4) Coconut oil – 1 table spoon
(5) Green chilly – 4
(6) Mustard seeds – 1 tea spoon
(7) Salt – adjust to taste
(8) Red chilly – 2
(9) Tamarind – Lemon size
(10) Curry leaves – a few
(11) Sambar powder – 4 table spoon
(12) Water – 4 cups
Procedure for cooking Onion Sambar Ulli Sambar
Remove skin of onion, wash and tear vertically. Wash toor dhal and boil
in 3 cups of water. When half cooked, add onion, green chilly and salt
also. When it is cooked, add tamarind extract. Mix sambar powder in ½
cup of water and pour that into the curry when it boils vigorously. Then
take the sambar from the stove, add jiggery and curry leaves and stir.
Splutter mustard seeds in heated oil and pour into sambar.
