How to cook or make Mutton Kuruma
Ingredients:
(1) Mutton – ½ kg
(2) Big onion – 3
(3) Coriander seed powder – 1 table spoon
(4) Turmeric powder – ½ tea spoon
(5) Masala powder – 1 ½ tea spoon
(6) Coconut – ½ cup
(7) Curd – ½ cup
(8) Green chilly – 5
(9) Ginger – 1 piece
(10) Garlic – 4 pellets
(11) Mustard seeds – as required
(12) Curry leaves – a little
(13) Salt – adjust to taste
Procedure for cooking Mutton Kuruma
Cut the mutton into pieces and wash them. Pour curd over the pieces and
stir. Grind green chilly, garlic, ginger, coriander seed powder, and turmeric
powder together. Chop the big onion into small pieces. Grind the grated
coconut into a fine paste. Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds
in that. Then roast pieces of big onion in that. When the onion pieces
turn to light brown in color add the ground mixture of ingredients. Then
add the mutton pieces, salt and water. Close the vessel with a lid and
heat. When the mutton is half cooked add masala powder. When it is cooked
and becomes thick add the coconut paste, curry leaves and stir. Finally
add coriander leaves and on boiling, stop heating and take the curry out
of the stove.
