How to cook or make Lemon Rice (Cherunaaranga
Saadam)
Ingredients:
(1) Basmati rice – 500 grams
(2) Lemon – 2
(3) Asafoetida powder – 1 pinch
(4) Fenugreek – 1 tea spoon
(5) Black gram dhal – 3 tea spoon
(6) Oil – 2 table spoon
(7) Salt – adjust to taste
(8) Mustard seeds – ½ tea spoon
(9) Red chilly – 3
Procedure Lemon Rice (Cherunaaranga Saadam)
Cook the rice. Roast and grind fenugreek and black gram dhal. Add the
two flours and asafetida to rice and mix well. Squeeze the lemon and the
juice along with salt may be added to the rice and stir well. Heat oil
in a pan oil in a pan, add mustard seeds to splutter, roast pieces of
red chilly and curry leaves in the oil and mix them with the rice. The
lemon rice is ready.
