How to cook or make Green Gram Stir Fry
(Cheru Payar Thoran)
Green Gram Stir Fry (Cheru Payar Thoran) Ingredients:
(1) Green Gram – 250 grams
(2) Coconut – ½ cup
Cumin seed – 1 pinch
Turmeric powder – ¼ tea spoon
Garlic – 2 pellets
Green chilly – 4
(3) Salt – adjust to taste
(4) Coconut oil – 1 table spoon
Mustard seeds – 1 tea spoon
Red chilly – 2
Curry leaves – a few
Procedure Green Gram Stir Fry (Cheru Payar Thoran)
Wash green gram, add salt and water and boil. As soon as the green gram
is cooked stop heating. It should not be over cooked. Smash the ingredients
under (2) and keep aside. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds into
that. When they splutter add pieces of red chilly, curry leaves and the
cooked green gram. Keep the smashed ingredients at the center of the green
gram, close the pan with a lid and heat for some time. Then stop heating,
take off the lid and stir thoroughly.
