How to cook or make Egg Plant Fruit Theeyal
(Vazhuthanga Theeyal)
Ingredients:
(1) Egg Plant Fruit – 3
Small onion – 100 gram
Green chilly – 2
(2) Coconut – half part
Chilly powder – 2 tea spoon
Coriander seed powder – 2 tea spoon
Turmeric powder – ½ tea spoon
(3) Salt – adjust to taste
Tamarind – a little
(4) Coconut oil – 2 table spoon
Mustard seeds – 1 tea spoon
Red chilly – 2
Curry leaves – a little
Procedure for cooking Egg Plant Fruit Theeyal (Vazhuthanga Theeyal)
Wash the egg plant fruit and cut into pieces. Chop the onion. Heat oil
in a pan and roast torn green chilly, egg plant fruit and onion in that
oil. Roast the ingredients under (2) and grind finely. Mix that with tamarind
water and then pour over the roasted pieces. Add salt and boil. Continue
boiling till they become thick. Then take out, add spluttered mustard
seeds and serve.
