Cucumber Kaalan Vellarikka Kaalan Ingredients:
(1) Ripe cucumber – ¼
(2) Green chilly – 3
(3) Chilly powder – 1 tea spoon
(4) Turmeric powder – ½ tea spoon
(5) Fenugreek – ½ tea spoon
(6) Mustard seeds – ½ tea spoon
(7) Curry leaves – a few
(8) Curd – 2 cup
(9) Coconut – ¼
(10) Salt – adjust to taste
Procedure for cooking Cucumber Kaalan Vellarikka Kaalan
Remove the skin and chop the cucumber into pieces. Take the pieces in
a vessel and add torn green chilly, salt, turmeric powder, chilly powder
and water and boil them. Grind coconut to a fine paste and mix with a
little water. Agitate the curd. Pour the curd over the cucumber pieces
along with coconut paste. Keep on stirring. Heat oil in a pan and roast
mustard seeds, curry leaves and fenugreek and pour them into the kaalan.
