How to cook or make Chinese yam Curry (Kachil
Curry)
Ingredients:
(1) Chinese Yam – 1 piece
(2) Grated coconut – 2 cups
Chilly powder – 1 tea spoon
Turmeric powder – ½ tea spoon
Cumin seed – ½ tea spoon
Pepper powder – ¼ tea spoon
(3) Coconut oil – 2 table spoon
Red chilly – 2
Mustard seeds – 1 tea spoon
Curry leaves – a little
Procedure for cooking Chinese yam Curry (Kachil Curry)
Remove skin of the yam and cut into pieces. Wash the pieces, Add water
and boil. Grind the ingredients under (2). Smash the yam pieces with a
big spatula and pour the ground ingredients over the pieces. Add salt
and on boiling, take out of the stove. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard
seeds into that to splutter. Roast pieces of red chilly and curry leaves
in the same oil and pour them over the yam curry.
