Bitter Gourd Stir Fry (Pavakka Thoran) tamil recipes,pongal etc

(1) Bitter gourd – ¼ kg
(2) Grated coconut – half part of a coconut
Green chilly – 5
Cumin seed – ¼ tea spoon
Turmeric powder – ½ tea spoon
Garlic – 2 pellets
(3) Big onion – 1
(4) Coconut oil – 2 table spoon
Mustard seeds – 1 tea spoon
Red chilly – 2
Curry leaves – a few

Procedure for cooking Bitter Gourd Stir Fry (Pavakka Thoran)

Wash the bitter gourd, remove the seeds and chop into very small pieces. Chop the big onion also. Smash the ingredients under (2). Heat oil in a vessel and add mustard seeds into that to splutter. Then add the bitter gourd and big onion. Salt and a little water is also added and stir well. Add the smashed ingredients at the center of the vessel. Then close the vessel with a lid and boil. After the bitter gourd is cooked, stir well and serve.
