How to make Rice Murukku at Home
Making Rice Murukku
Ingredients :
(1) Raw rice – 1 kg
(2) Black gram dhal – 250 grams
(3) Fresh coconut – half
(4) Milk scum/Butter – 100 grams
(5) Salt – adjust to taste
(6) Sesame – 25 grams
(7) Oil – as required
Procedure :
Soak the raw rice for 2 hours and then grind that as we do for making puttu. Cook black gram dhal in a cooker and grind it to a smooth paste without mixing with much water. Mix that with rice flour, butter, sesame and coconut. Do not add water. Fix the mould for ‘Murukku’ in the squeezer and squeeze out the mixture in the shape of ‘Murukku’ into a flat vessel. Heat oil in a pan, fry the ‘Murukku’ in that and collect back.
