Making Onion Murukku (Ulli Murukku)
Ingredients :

                    (1) Raw rice – 3 ½ cup
                    (2) Toor dhal – 1 cup
                    (3) Small onion – ¼ cup
                   (4) Salt – adjust to taste
                   (5) Chilly powder – 1 ½ tea spoon
                   (7) Oil – as required

Procedure :

Grind raw rice and dhal into powder and sieve them. Grind small onion into a paste and add to the rice dhal mixture. Heat 2 table spoons of oil and pour into the mixture. Mix well and divide the mixture into 10 equal parts. Take the parte one by one, mix a little water and make it a thick paste, squeeze through the ‘Murukku’ mould into heated oil, fry well and collect back.
