How to make Neyyappam or Ghee Appam at Home

Chilly – Coriander Leaves

Making Ghee Appam (Neyyappam)

                     (1) Raw rice – 2 cup
                     (2) Maida – ½ cup
                     (3) Jaggery – 1 ½ cup
                     (4) Sesame – 1 table spoon
                     (5) Chopped small pieces of coconut roasted in ghee – 2 table spoon
                     (6) Salt, Oil – as required

Procedure :

Grind raw rice and mix with maida, jaggery and water to make a thick paste. After 2 days add roasted pieces of coconut, a pinch of salt and sesame and mix well to form a thick solution.  Take one big spoon full of the mixture and pour into boiling ghee in the pit of an Appam Maker. Roast both sides and collect back.
