How to make Masala Idli at home

Making Masala Idli

                      (1) Potato – 2
                      (2) Carrot – 2
                      (3) Cauli flower – ½ cup
                      (4) Green chilly – 2
                      (5) Coconut – ½
                      (6) Gram dhal – 2 table spoon
                      (7) Small onion – ½ cup
                      (8) Mustard seeds – ½ tea spoon
                      (9) Idli mix – 4 cups
                    (10) Tomato – 2
                      (11) Curry leaves – 2 stems
                      (12) Salt, oil – as required

Procedure :

Chop and cook potato, carrot and cauli flower. Heat oil in a vessel and add mustard seeds to splutter. Add chopped pieces of small onion, heat and stir. Then add curry leaves, chopped pieces of tomato and stir. Heat oil in another vessel and roast gram dhal in that. Grind the roasted gram dhal, coconut and salt together. Mix the ground items with the roasted ingredients and salt, heat mildly and make the mixture dry.
Pour idli mix to ¾ part of the pits in the idli maker, add 1 table spoon of the curry, pour a little more of the idli mix, close the cooker and cook idli in steam. Then take out and serve.
