Coconut Rice  (Thenga Choru) Recipe

How to prepare Coconut Rice  (Thenga Choru) at Home


Making Coconut Rice  (Thenga Choru)



                       (1) Cooked basmati rice – 2 cups
                       (2) Coconut milk – 2 cups
                       (3) Curry leaves – 1 stem
                       (4) Coriander leaves – ½ cup
                       (5) Grated coconut - ½ cup
                       (6) Pepper powder – 1 tea spoon
                       (7) Mustard seeds – ½ tea spoon
                       (8) Red chilly – 2
                       (9) Salt, Coconut oil – as required

Procedure :

Heat 3 table spoon of coconut oil in a pan and add mustard seeds into that to splutter.  Add curry leaves and 2 red chilly and heat. Add grated coconut, pepper powder and salt and stir. Pour coconut milk and boil that.  When the coconut milk is about to dry completely add the cooked rice, stir and dry and take the pan out of the stove.  Transfer the contents into another vessel, sprinkle coriander leaves and 2 fried red chilly and serve hot.
