Pongappam Sweet Raised Bun South Indian,Kerala ,tamil nadu styles
Pongappam Sweet Raised Bun Ingredients:-
1. soaked raw rice - 1/2 kg
2. toddy - 1 cup
3. sugar - 1/2 cup
4. coconut - a big one
5. elachi - 3
6. salt - 1 pinch
7. ghee - as required
Method of preparation Pongappam Sweet Raised Bun :
Add soaked rice, toddy, grated coconut, elachi powder, salt and sugar
into a mixer, grind it so as to get a medium
thick paste. Transfer the paste to a vessel and keep for 4 hrs.
After 4 hrs the level will start to rise. Take a broad vessel and apply
ghee inside. When the paste rises steadily,, transfer it to the broad
vessel without shaking. Keep the vessel in an idly cooker and heat it.
Once the cooking is over, take the vessel out and separate the bun from
the vessel.
