Kerala South Indian Kashmiri Mutton

• Kashmiri Mutton Ingredients:-
•
• 1. Mutton ( leg part ) - 500 gms
• 2. mustard oil - 4 tb sp
• 3. dry ginger powder - 1 1/2 tea sp
• 4. elachi - 4
• 5. clove - 5
• 6. cinnamon - 1 piece
• 7. dry nut meg - 1/4 tea sp
• 8. salt - to taste
• 9. thick curd - 1/2 cup
• 10. kashmiri chilly powder - 1 tea sp
• 11. asafoetida - 1 pinch (dissolved in little water)

• Method of preparation Kashmiri Mutton :
•
• Cut mutton into pieces. Soak all pieces with curd and keep for
1 hour. Heat mustard oil in a pan. Fry elachi, clove and cinnamon for
a minute. Add mutton pieces into the pan. Reduce flame. Add salt, pepper
powder and water solution of asafoetida.
• Heat gently and stir continuously. Now add nutmeg powder.
• Pour 1 cup of water and close the pan with a lid. stir at intervals
• until the liquid part gets thick.
• When there is no more liquid, take out. Serve as a side dish for
• rice, pulav and naan.
