Plantain Stem Cutlet Vazhappindi Cutlet Vazhapindi Cutlets Ingredients:-
(1) Small pieces of plantain stem without fiber – 2 cups
(2) Mustard seed – 1 tea spoon
(3) Salt – 1 tea spoon
Black gram dhal – 1 tea spoon
Oil – as required
(4) Big onion – 3
Green chilly – 6
Ginger – 1 small piece
(5) Potato – 3
(6) Maida – 1 tea spoon
(7) Bread crumb – as required
Method of preparation Vazhappindi Cutlet Vazhapindi Cutlets
Cook the plantain stem with water and salt. Roast mustard seed and black
gram dhal in heated oil. Cut all ingredients under (4) in to small pieces,
roast them in oil and add cooked and smashed potato and the cooked plantain
stem pieces into that followed by salt. Grated carrot also may be added
into this, if desired. Take the central white portion of the bread, soak
it with water and add into the mixture. Mix thoroughly. Then make small
balls with this mixture and spread the balls in the shape of cutlet.
Mix maida with water and salt and make a thick paste. Dip the cutlet pieces
into the maida paste, roll over the bread crumb and fry in boiling oil.
Take out and serve hot.
