Unni Appam Ingredients:-
(1) raw rice – 1 litre
(2) plantain fruit (small) – 10
(3) jaggery – 1 kg
(4) coconut oil – ½ kg
Method of preparation Unni Appam
Soak the rice and grind it to flour. Take jaggery in a pan , add a little
water and heat the pan. Continue heating till the jaggery melts completely.
When the melted jaggery starts falling like a thread while pouring down,
stop heating and filter out the melted jaggery. Add the rice flour into
the melted jaggery little by little and stir well. Remove skin of the
plantain fruits, smash them and mix thoroughly with the mixture. Stir
the mixture well and make it just like dosa mix.
Take a pan having pits inside. Pour oil into that pan and heat it. When
oil starts to boil, fill the pits one by one with the prepared mixture.
Fry both sides and take out after filtering out the oil. Sprinkle a little
sugar over the pieces and serve.
