Thakkali – Meen Roast Tomato Fish Roast Ingredients:-
(1) Cleaned closely lined Mathi fish – 6 ( if Ayala, 3 only )
(2) tomato pieces without seeds – ½ cup
(3) pepper powder – 2 tea spoons
(4) small onions chopped – ½ cup
(5) fennel – 2 tea spoons
(6) garlic – 5 pellets
(7) chilly powder – 1 tea spoon
(8) turmeric powder – 1 tea spoon
(9) veg. oil – 1 tea spoon ( not required if fish is having ghee)
(10) curry leaves – a little
(11) salt – adjust to taste
(12) plantain leaves – as required
Method of preparation Thakkali – Meen Roast Tomato Fish Roast
Mix all ingredients except fish and onion and grind the mixture in a mixer,
without adding water so as to obtain a rough paste. Add the onion also
into the mixture. Apply the mixture over the fish and spread them on a
plantain leaf. Roast both sides of the fish over a low flame.
( In microwave oven, spread fishes on tawa and cook for 8 minutes only.)
