(1) ripe jack fruit – 25 slices
(2) raw rice – 2 cups
Grated coconut – 1 cup
(3) jaggery – 500 grams
Salt – 1 pinch
Method of preparation Chakkayappam Jack Fruit Appam
Remove the seed and its covering membrane from the jack fruit slices.
Grind the slices together with soaked raw rice and grated coconut. Add
jiggery and pinch of salt into that and mix well. Spread a little quantity
of the mixture on a piece of plantain leaf, fold the leaf, keep it inside
an idly cooker and steam cook. After 30 minutes, take out and serve.
