Spicy Mango Pickle Avakkai Manga South Indian,Kerala ,tamil nadu styles receipe


Spicy Mango Pickle Avakkai Manga Ingredients:
(1) Raw mango with thick flesh – 3 ½ kg
(2) Powdered salt – adjust to taste
(3) Mustard seeds powder – ¾ cup
(4) Fenugreek powder – ½ cup
(5) Gingili oil – 2 table spoon
(6) Asafoetida – 1 big piece
(7) Kashmiri chilly powder – 2 cups (powdered after applying gingili oil on the chilly)
(8) Gingili oil – ½ liter
(9) White gram – ½ cup

Procedure for cooking Spicy Mango Pickle Avakkai Manga


Take the mango pieces in a big flat vessel. Add salt, mustard seeds powder, fenugreek powder and white gram and stir well. Heat asafoetida in gingili oil and add that into the vessel along with chilly powder. Boil ½ liter gingili oil and cool that. On cooling pour the oil into the pickle. Stir well. The oil must be floating over the mango pieces. Transfer the pickle into a jar and keep the jar closed tight. After one week take the pickle out and use.
