Fruit Cake South Indian,Kerala ,tamil nadu styles receipe
Fruit Cake Ingredients:
(1) Maida – 250 grams
(2) Sugar – 300 grams
(3) Butter – 250 grams
(4) Pineapple – ½ cup
(5) Cashew nuts – 100 grams
(6) Dry grapes – 100 grams (chopped into small pieces)
(7) Dates – 100 grams (seed removed, chopped into small pieces)
(8) Cherry (chopped) – 100 grams
(9) Brandy – ½ cup
(10) Caramel syrup – 2 tea spoon
(11) Baking powder – 1 spoon
(12) Egg – 4
(13) Lemon juice – of 1 lemon fruit
Procedure for cooking Fruit Cake
Dry grapes, dates and cherry are to be kept dipped in brandy in a bottle
one week in advance. Sprinkle maida and baking powder over pineapple and
chop the fruit into small slices. Mix butter with sugar. Whip the eggs.
Mix pineapple pieces with the mixture of butter and sugar, whipped egg,
jam, caramel syrup and the fruits taken out of brandy. Finally add cashew
nuts and lemon juice and mix thoroughly. Place ghee coated butter paper
in the vessel of the oven and transfer the mixture into that vessel and
bake.
Instead of oven cooker can be used. Add a little water into the cooker.
Then place 3 glasses in the cooker in inverted position. Pour the mixture
over the glasses and close it with another vessel and heat. Weight need
not be placed on the cooker.
