Dhal Vada (Parippu Vada)
Ingredients:
(1) Vada dhal – 150 grams
(2) Small onion – 50 grams
(3) Red chilly – 4
(4) Chopped ginger – ½ tea spoon
(5) Fennel – 1 tea spoon
(6) Curry leaves – a little
(7) Oil – 1 table spoon
(8) Salt – adjust to taste
Procedure for cooking Dhal Vada (Parippu Vada)
Soak the vada dhal, fennel and red chilly in water for 1 hour and filter
out. Chop the onion. Grind all ingredients together into a rough paste
either by grinding in a mixer or in a manual grinder. Take small quantity
of the mixture and press to the shape of vada. Then spread them on a tawa
and pour ½ tea spoon oil over each vada. Fry them for 8 minutes
in crisp. Flip the vadas after 5 minutes while frying.
