Channa Ki Dhal South Indian,Kerala ,tamil nadu styles receipe
Channa Ki Dhal Ingredients:
(1) Channa dhal – 1 cup (soaked in water for 2 minutes)
(2) Laucky (or cucumber / pumpkin) cut into small pieces – ½
kg
(3) Ginger cut into long pieces – 1 piece
(5) Chilly powder – two table spoon
(6) Ghee – 2 table spoon
(7) Cumin seed – 1 tea spoon
(8) Turmeric powder – ½ tea spoon
(9) Spring onion chopped into small pieces -2
(10) Salt – adjust to taste
(11) Garam masala – 1 tea spoon
(13) Coriander leaves chopped into small pieces – 1 table spoon
Procedure for cooking Channa Ki Dhal
Cook gram dhal, cucumber/pumpkin, salt, turmeric and water in a cooker.
Heat ghee in a pan and add cumin seed into that. Roast pieces of big onion
in that till it becomes brown in color. Then add ginger, garlic and green
chilly and roast them for 2 minutes. Add tomato into that and continue
heating till the tomato is cooked. Add the contents in the pan into the
cooked gram dhal and heat for 3 – 4 minutes. Sprinkle garam masala
powder and coriander leaves and serve.
