Bread fruit Stew Kadachakka Stew Ingredients:
(1) Breadfruit cut into square pieces – 2 cups
(2) Oil – ¼ cup
(3) Mustard seeds – ½ tea spoon
(4) Elachi – 4
(5) Cinnamon – 3 pieces
(6) Clove – 4 pieces
(7) Big onion cut into long pieces – ½ cup
(8) Ginger cut into long pieces – 2 tea spoons
(9) Green chilly – 5
(10) 1st milk of one coconut – ½ cup
(11) 2nd milk of coconut – 2 cup
(12) Maida – 2 tea spoon
(13) Vinegar – 1 tea spoon
(14) Curry leaves – a little
(15) Salt – adjust to taste
(16) Garlic – 6 pellets
Procedure for cooking Bread fruit Stew Kadachakka Stew
Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds into the hot oil to splutter.
Roast elachi, clove and cinnamon in the oil. Then roast onion, ginger,
garlic and green chilly one by one and then add curry leaves. Then take
out all items.
Heat second milk of coconut in a vessel and when it boils add pieces of
breadfruit and the roasted ingredients. Heat it further. Make a solution
of maida in 1st milk of coconut and add the solution into the vessel in
which breadfruit is being cooked. Finally add vinegar and salt. Boil the
mixture and then take out and serve.
