Rawa Uppumavu or Rava Uppuma ( Uppeet)
Rava Uppuma (Rava Uppumavu) : Ingredients & method of cooking
(1) Rava – ½ kg
(2) Grated coconut – ½
(3) Coconut oil – 2 table spoon
(4) Red chilly – 2 Nos.
(5) Mustard seeds – 1 tea spoon
(6) Curry leaves – a few
(7) Salt – adjust to taste
(8) Water – as required
Roast rava in a pan till it becomes reddish. Take out and keep aside. Heat coconut oil in the pan. Add mustard seeds to splutter. Roast pieces of red chilly and curry leaves in that oil. Then pour water and salt. On boiling vigorously, add the rava into that and stir well. No lumps should be formed. Add grated coconut also and stir well. When water is dried, stop heating and take the pan from the stove.
