How to make Puttu
Steam Cake
(Puttu)
Ingredients
(1) Raw rice – 2 cup
(2) Coconut – half
(3) Salt – adjust to taste
Procedure :
Soak the rice with water and then grind into flour. Roast the flour in a pan till it becomes reddish. Mix the flour with hot water and salt. Mix thoroughly without formation of lumps. Fix the slit in the Puttu maker and fill with alternate layers of soaked rice flour and grated coconut. Fill the pot with water and boil. Fix the Puttu maker above that and cook the mixture in steam.
