How to make Uppumavu with Wheat flour or Gothambu podi :
Wheat Uppumavu (Gothampu Uppumavu) - Ingredients required & Method of Cooking
(1) Wheat flour – ½ kg
(2) Grated coconut – half
(3) Mustard seeds – 1 tea spoon
(4) Red chilly – 3 Nos.
(5) Coconut oil – 2 table spoon
(6) Curry leaves – a few
(7) Salt – adjust to taste
Soak the wheat flour and grated coconut with water. Spread a white cloth in the idly maker and keep this mixture on that. Add salt and cook that in steam without formation of lumps.
Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds to splutter. Roast red chilly and curry leaves in that oil and pour them into the cooked flour and stir well.
