Bread Idli recipe
Ingredients required for the preparation:
• Bread slices-8 no’s
• Potatoes:5-6 (Boiled & smashed)
• Green chilies as per requirement
• Onion as required
• 1 cup sour curd
• 2 tsp chat masala
• 1 tsp red chili powder
• Salt as per taste
• Rai (mustard seeds)
• Curry leaves/Kadi pattha as required
• Oil to fry

Method of making Bread Idli


Method: Boil the potatoes, peel and smash them and keep aside. Cut the bread slices into round shapes this can be done using the lid of a stainless steel container. Mix the chat masala, chili powder & onion to the smashed potatoes and keep aside. Liquidise the curd by adding some water. Heat kadai & pour 1 tsp oil and Temper rai & kadi pattha to the liquidized curd.

Take 1 piece of bread slice and apply the potato mixture (two tbsp) on one side. Now heat a tawa & pour a little oil to it. Place the bread slice with potato masala facing the tawa. Now soak the bread by pouring 2 tbsp of curd on the slice piece. Cover the tawa with a big lid so that the idli gets cooked in steam. Let it remain for 2 min & you find the Bread Idli ready to be served. Repeat this till all the 8 slices are ready in the form of idli. Garnish with coriander leaves & serve hot with chutney or Tomato sauce.
