Aloo palak gravy recipe is a gravy based palak recipe with aloo as its main ingredient .The method of cooking aloo palak gravy recipe involves frying onion with other seasoning ingredients & later cooking potato pieces & adding spinach to cook it together to complete the process of making palak aloo gravy recipe .Here is the list of aloo palak gravy recipe is given below .

Alu palak gravy recipe Ingredients
Palak / Spinach / Cheera - 2 cups, chopped
Potatoes / Aloo - 2, cubed
Onion - 1 small, chooped (I used 5-6 shallots so that works as well)
Garlic pods - 2 to 3, minced (or 1/2 tsp garlic paste. This is optional but I love the flavour so added it)
Ginger - a small piece
(Alternately, you can use 1 tsp ginger garlic paste but the taste is going to differ by a lot, downwards!)
Cumin / jeera / jeerakam powder - 2 tsp
Coriander / malli powder - 1 tsp
Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp, or to taste (I used 3 green chillies)
Turmeric powder - a pinch
Salt - to taste
Oil - 1.5 tbsp (I used 1 tbsp ghee / clarified butter for a better flavour)

Prepare Aloo Paalak gravy recipe

• Chop spinach
• Cut potato after peeling
• Chop onions
• Mince garlic and ginger
• Keep ready other ingredients

Method of cooking Aaloo Palak gravy recipe .

Switch on your stove & heat oil in a pan and fry onion till it turn golden color ,now add cumin ,coriander powder,chilli powder & turmeric powder - & be careful to avoid any burnings of masala powders .
Now add the minced garlic & ginger .& sauté

Now add the potato pieces to the pan & sauté for a while – add little water & salt , close the pan with a lid to cook the potatoes ,after the potatoes are almost done ,add paalak pieces & mix well & simmer till all the vegetables cooked well & the oil seperates ,it may take 15 to 20 mins .
Now the paalak aaloo gravy recipe is ready now to be served with chapattis.
