Kolhapuri chicken curry recipe is another chicken recipe based on gravy
,we have another Kolhapuri chicken recipe here . Kolhapuri ,the spelling
& pronunciation were little bit different ,I used to spell it as Kolapuri
or Kohlapuri .
Kolhapuri is a place in India ,which is famous for its chappal,well
known as Kolhapuri chappals .
The main ingredients required to cook this Kolhapuri chicken curry dish
are Chicken,Red Chilli powder,turmeric powder,curds,onion,coriander powder,garama
masala powder,coriander leaves, and ingredients for ground masala .
Ingredients:
1 kg Chicken
2 tsp Sankleshwari Red Chilli Powder
3-4 tsp Oil
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
4 tsp Curds
1 chopped Onion
2 tsp Coriander powder
1 tsp Garam Masala powder
Coriander
Salt
Ingredients for ground masala:
1/2 cup Dry Coconut
2 Onions
1 Tomato
2 inch Ginger
8-10 Garlic
Roast the above in little oil and grind.
How to prepare for cooking Kolhapuri Chicken curry recipe
Make the ground masala for Kolhapuri chicken curry recipe : The ground
masala could be prepared by roasting the ingredients for ground masala
oil & grinding it after cooling .
Marinating the chicken :We have to Marinate the chicken for around 2 hours
in the marinade prepared by mixing curds,salt,turmeric powder .
Method of cooking Kolhapuri chicken curry recipe
In a pan heat oil ,add onions & stir fry them until it turn brown,now
add the chicken and fry well .Add 1 litre of hot water and let cook on
medium heat ,when almost cooked keep aside .
In another pan heat oil and add the ground masala ,garam masala powder
,stir fry till the raw smell disappears .Now add the chicken & other
ingredients we have cooked earlier to this pan ,stir till the oil starts
to separate from the gravy .Cook till done .Now our Kolhapuri chicken
curry is ready ,garnish this chicken curry recipe from Kohlapuri with
coriander .
Serve hot Kolhapuri chicken curry with plain rice, or with Naan .
